I want to share my opinion on what it’s like to own a Lexus and the pros and cons of owning one.

Pros

Stylish: No matter which Lexus you own, it will have style and class. There is no better feeling than driving down the road with everyone looking at your car and getting compliments.

High end: These cars do not compromise their style and sense of high end. Lexus knows its market and is not willing to compromise; they are idealistic and have proven again and again that style and class are high priority. You will not find a small fiesta-sized car come from one of their garages any time soon.

Comfort: The whole design of the car is made for the driver's comfort, and to be honest, it is amazing. The cooling and heating seats are just phenomenal, and the surround sound was really enjoyable.

Rear wheel drive: Many of the Lexus cars are rear wheel drive or all wheel drive, and this is one of my favourite features of the car. You cannot go wrong with a bit of drifting action. The IS has an optional LSD in the car, and mine had it, so that meant it was a lot of fun.

Ahead of its time: I owned a Lexus from 1991, a Sorar, and my god was that car ahead of its time. The vehicle had a feature that many cars still don’t have today. It was a powerful V8, and had one of the most beautiful designs inside the car. It had cream leather seats, a touch screen, and digital radio. I mean, this may not impress everyone, but I was truly amazed at the technology within the car.

Speed: My car can pack a punch when it needs to. The vehicle is a really good run around and can be a steady driver if you want it to be, but when you get it going on the motorway or on a track, it has some speed behind it! The stock break horsepower for my IS250 is 208bhp, so it has some speed behind it.

Cons

Running cost: Running a V6 engine can get a little costly, so if you purchase either this car or one similar be prepared to spend a lot of money on petrol alone.

Tax (UK): When it comes to taxing your car in the UK. it depends on the car itself and the emissions that it produces. (I have no clue about other countries.) You will need to be prepared to also spend money on getting your car taxed.

Repair cost: Unfortunately when any car breaks it costs a lot of money, but for Lexus, being an expensive car manufacturer overall, the costs for parts and repairs can get very expensive, especially if you are like me and do not have thousands lying around to throw at your car. The repair cost can also mean maintenance cost. This car will take a lot of time and effort to maintain its look and capabilities; for example, you will need to keep on top of the oil of the car.

I have owned my Lexus IS250 for a year and a half now, and even though the running costs are extremely high for me, it is my pride and joy and I love it so much. It is a stunning black car, and at the moment it is a stock car, with no modifications. In the near future I want to turn it into a true modified VIP.

Everything I’ve written is just my views and my opinion!
