There's something to be said about being able to drive a car you know you can rely on. It offers tons of peace of mind, and gives you the feeling that you can always expect your car to get you where you want to go—no matter what the conditions, or how far away the place you want to be is.

There aren't too many cars that will last 250,000 miles out there. However, if you're smart about which car you're buying and are willing to keep up its maintenance, you can expect your car to have a long life.

According to the experts, these are the cars that are most likely to last at least a quarter of a million miles. Which of these would you want to buy?

Toyota Camry

If there was one car that became synonymous with being one of the most reliable cars on dealership lots, it's the Toyota Camry. Along with being a fairly long-running line of sedans, Consumer Reportscalled the Camry one of the very few cars proven to last over 200,000 miles.

With around 38 miles per gallon, for a new 2018 hybrid version, these cars have great fuel economy, great amenities, and serious reliability. Even if you buy them used, these cars will last 250,000 or more—as long as you take good care of them.

Toyota also happens to be one of the most reliable car brands on the market, making it a double dose of reliability on one of the biggest purchases you can make in your life.

Honda Accord

Admittedly, the Honda Accord is not exactly flashy. It's not a big ol' SUV, nor is it a sleek and stylish sports car. The Honda Accord line, though, has produced insanely reliable cars that are known for clocking in as much as 300,000 miles on their runs.

Hondas have great safety ratings and are regularly cited as great bargains for their price. Great gas mileage, hybrid car options, and overall ratings have made it one of the most popular cars on the market. Since these cars will last 250,000 miles on a regular basis, it's not surprising many people keep these beloved family cars for years on end.

Toyota Prius

You know, South Park did an episode about Prius drivers being smug. We get it. We'd be smug too if we'd be driving some of the most environmentally-friendly cars that will last 250,000 miles or more, too.

Along with being one of the most likely cars to be kept for ten years or more by their owners, the Toyota Prius has become famous for its excellent gas mileage, roomy interior, and ample amenities.

Right now, the Toyota Prius is one of the most fuel-efficient cars in existence. The newest Prius comes with a gas mileage as high as 52 miles per gallon—a serious feat in modern engineering.

Honda CR-V

The Honda CR-V is one of the best examples of a great SUV, and that's why it's regularly called one of the most reliable mid-sized cars in existence right now. Along with being one of the most long-kept cars on the market, the Honda CR-V also has a slew of awards for its excellent design.

Great reliability, an impressive gas mileage rating for its class, and nimble handling has made this car a favorite. Make no mistake about it, these are cars that will last 250,000 miles on a typical run—and that's great news for car owners who want reliability and style.

Toyota Sienna

Consumer Reports also called the Toyota Sienna one of the most likely cars that will last 250,000 miles or more during their lifespans. Though they may not be as glamorous as a sports car, these beefy minivans are lively cars that are celebrated for their exceptionally spacious interiors.

With a maximum seating capacity of up to eight people, it's become a great pick for both big families and small companies alike. The Toyota Sienna remains one of the most reliable minivans in the world, as well as one of the most well-liked.

Honda Civic

Perhaps the most "perennial sedan" on the market, the Honda Civic is one of the most widely-driven cars in America. Known for being the sedans that keep on going and going, these Energizer battery-stamina cars are the perfect commuter car for people who want a budget-friendly problem solver.

Currently, the Honda Civic reigns supreme among commuter cars that will last 250,000 miles or more. No matter how you look at it, that's a nice purchase and a great way to drive to work.

Toyota Corolla

If you can't tell, getting a Toyota or a Honda seems to be a good way to ensure that your cars will last 250,000 miles or more. The Toyota Corolla is no exception to the rule, and that's why it's regularly considered to be one of the most reliable used cars to buy.

The Corolla is one of the best popular compact sedans on the market due to its spacious interior and zippy motor. Reliability and low maintenance costs make it a car that's worth buying if you're looking to invest in something that will always be there for you.

Toyota 4Runner

Big, beefy, and powerful, the Toyota 4Runner has quite a few fans among gearheads who like to feel a little pep behind the wheel. This car has become infamous for being able to handle rugged off-roading fun, but also manages to keep things classy enough for a trip in the city.

The best part about owning a Toyota 4Runner is that they are cars that will last 250,000 miles with minimal maintenance—all while delivering an excellent riding experience day after day.

Ford F-150

The Ford F-150 is one of the only trucks that was cited by Consumer Reports to be proven to last over 200,000 miles. It also happens to be one of the only—no, wait—the only American car on this list. So, that's a pretty awesome bragging right.

To a point, you have to expect the F-150 to be reliable. Its original purpose was to be a work truck for laborers, farm hands, and carpenter crews. Sources say its offroading capabilities make it a fun drive, too.

Subaru Forester

Topping off the list of the cars that will last 250,000 or more is the Subaru Forester—one of the hottest compact SUVs on the market. High safety ratings, a nice interior, and an engine that roars like a muscle car has made it a very popular pick among people from all walks of life.
